Truck Washing Party

Truck washing is a necessary part of any Firefighter's job. But in a Volunteer Fire Department, it can be hard to find the time to complete this task.

Towards the end of February, members of the Spanish Peaks Fire Department, and some student volunteers from Aguilar High School, took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather to wash all of the trucks in the Aguilar Station.

After working for a few hours, Assistant Chief Larry Broach, Firefighter Justin Barajas, Dispatcher Keisha Broach, and Aguilar High School student volunteers Aimee Hart and Joe Martinez were treated to pizza for lunch, provided by the Spanish Peaks Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. It's so nice having Adamo's Pizza just down the street! Then we all got back to work!

Taking advantage of the empty bay, Assistant Chief Broach, Firefighters Barajas and David Valdez, and Dispatcher Broach swept and cleaned the bay.

All in all, it was a very productive two days. We got a lot done, and the trucks are all nice and clean-at least until the next incident!
