KeepKidsHealthy.com passes on these important tips for summer sunscreen use:
Use sunscreen-even late in the day or when you think you won't be outside for long
Use enough sunscreen, and reapply it often, especially if you or your child are in the water or sweating
Make sure you don't miss important areas-the tip of your nose, upper thighs, your ears, and your baby's head (they often don't have enough hair to give them much protection there)
Don't put sunscreen on right before you go outside-it's most effective when applied about 30 minutes before you go out into the sun
Don't let your kids play outside when the sun is strongest-between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm
Provide yourself and your kids with shade-just because they have sunblock on doesn't mean they won't necessarily need to escape the heat
Have a safe and happy summer!
